Inauguration day

Inauguration day is finally here and just about over. It's been a good day for this Boot Camper. I don't often get to spend most of a day on MPM like I did today. I did watch 25 minutes of the inauguration but most of the day was spent on MPM. I spent some time studying the NPO Manual early in the day and then started searching for NPOs that interested me. I am looking for local NPOs that I can work with. My interest is in those NPOs who work with social justice issues, animal/bird issues, and environmental issues.

I don't have a list and I certainly don't know who these NPOs are so I spent the balance of the morning and part of the early afternoon searching for these NPOs on the Internet. I came up with a healthy list of names just doing general research but they were not accompanied by phone numbers. I then checked the web site for a group of them. When I was comfortable that I knew something about the organization, I gave them a call. I got through to three of them and they are going to check our web site.

I spent the balance of the day doing follow ups. I was not successful in reaching the follow ups. Not one of them was in. I ended up the day by sending e-mails to people who were not in.

I feel I had a really good day.
