Happy Birthday!

I would like to take this time to wish MPM a happy 2nd birthday , and many, many more.A lot of things have happened in these last two years. We have learned a lot. We tried many things--some of them worked, some ofgthem didn't. We launched the first boot camp, some thing I am very proud to be a part of.

While we ARE growing, there seems to be a feeling that we are not growing fast enough. We are growing at exactly the right pace. I know this because there are lessons to be learned now. When the lessons are learned we will grow plenty fast enough. Just as fast as we want and may be even faster than we want. For now, we must ask "What lessons should we be learning?" I can assure you we are not going to grow any faster until we learn the lessons we are meant to learn. I can not learn the lessons for you. Each and every one of you must learn your own lessons and until you do, you will not move forward. You will keep repeating the same lessons over and over and over until you learn them.

Let's celebrate this 2nd birthday by asking what lessons should I be learning? When you can answer, make learning the lessons your highest priority and move on. I recognize that I have many lessons to learn. I am moving at a slow pace also but I know that when I take the time to learn my lessons, the pace will pick up.

bzm: Yes, the letter was important. The meeting was great--a men's prayer meeting.

Hi Tom,

That's a wonderfully reflective post on what it means to hit a milestone, MPM's 2nd birthday, and to allow a moment to assess the situation for each of us individually and collectively.

Have you been reading Eleanor's blog posting recently, on goal setting? As she's talking about s.m.a.r.t. goals, she mentioned that time may or may not be one element of the s.m.a.r.t. goal that you will need to adjust as you set course to achieve your goal.

You mention lessons and growth. Are you speaking of learning lessons on growing the business, skills to acquire or improve upon, knowledge, etc, or, in terms of our own growth as people, which include our interpersonal skills, and creating balance within ourselves, such as, mental, physical, emotional, familial, spiritual? Or, are you thinking of a merger of both growth of Self with growth of skill sets that create success?

Do you have thoughts on collective lessons for MPM Members?

Thanks, Tom. There have been times throughout the Boot Camp I would ask myself some of these types of personal assessment questions and I would find we were right where we were supposed to be even though it didn't match our initial goal (s ). I do, and we do, have some adjustments to make to reposition our vessel (s ) upon the path of the s.m.a.r.t. goals.

I don't know that you would care to do so, but if you would care to elaborate on some of the lessons you've learned, or, intend to learn, it may prove helpful to one or more of us.

Thank you, and have a very rich and blessed weekend.
