Friday

A little got done before the call this morning and then off to work for another nine hour shift. after work I was able to contact some of the people whom I had given cards to earlier in the week. Only one had checked out the website so far.

I'm still very excited about the program. It is knowing that I am doing something positive for the beneficiaries of the foundation mall that has me so excited. If you want to help others and you really and truly believe you are making a difference you can not help but be excited. Try it. You will be just as excited as I am.

OOOPS, Today is day 3

Today was much easier to handle. I got my You Tube up and running. Again, something completely new to me.I don't view myself as behind the times. After all, I got my first PC in 1979, before some of you were born, and believe it or not, I was setting up Internet classes for other people to take in 1990 when the Internet for public users was cutting edge. Actually, I find this blog thing kind of fun. I'm sure I will feel the same way about You Tube after a couple of days

Getting people to check out the program was much easier today too. We heard on the call this morning about referring to the recipient of the foundation mall in the presentation. I decided to try that in my presentation. I then contacted people whom might have an interest. I feel much better about this kind of approach. In fact, it has gotten me really excited about what I am doing. For a brief moment, I was so excited that I could see myself in my mind repeating the process with a second foundation and a third...then my thoughts came back to reality. I need to get through boot camp first but I want you to know, I am very excited about what I am doing. This is the kind of project I have been looking for.

I tried to do a follow up phone call with the five contacts I made yesterday but none of the five were in. It is the night before a holiday--I will contact them later.

Day 3

Today I approached many people in two gas stations, in three grocery stores (one of them I went back to twice), a bakery outlet and a tire shop. Altogether, ten people were willing to take the card and check out the website but only five were willing to give me their phone, and e-mail. An additional three were willing to give their phone but not their e-mail.Since I am approaching complete strangers I can understand their reluctance to give me personal information. It could be that I don't have the "pitch" down yet and consequently the confidence or trust is not built quickly enough.

It was a fun day on the street but I have to say that I am feeling a little overwhelmed by the set up part, the blog, the you tube. These things are completely new to me and I can see they are going to take some getting used to.

First day Nov 24

It was a very tight day time wise. The call got over at 11:00 and I was supposed to be at work at 11:00. I put in a nine hour shift and then went to pick up my wife at her work. Then I went to a shopping mall to see if I could catch some people. The mall was dead--after 9:00 PM most stores are closed. I did however get to talk to one person who did give me his name, number and e-mail. He said he would check it out and I told him I would follow up with him in a day or so. He seemed genuinely interested. When I tried to get into my blog to night, it wouldn't let me in. I had to reset all the passwords. With the time that I had to devote to the project, I feel I had a good day and I am very excited about what I can do tomorrow. My beans arrived.

WOW!

A day ago I didn't know what a blog was and now I have one. I am not the most computer savvy person around so that means setting up a blog is quite a challenge. If you are reading this it means I got in and my blog is working. I have just accepted a tremendous challenge by agreeing to be a part of the World Changer Boot Camp. I accepted this challenge because I know that it will bring me closer to achieving my goal of helping as many people as possible. One of the ways I help people is by working for systemic change. In plain English that means working to change broken systems. You all know we have plenty of those. There are a number of organizations that work for systemic change that I support. In order to expand that support I have set up the Young Eagle Foundation. You may wish to visit the Young eagle Foundation Mall at: http://www.mypowermall.com/Biz/Home/53706.
